Born into a family of farmers, ponies have been our lifelong companions for many generations. Some worked the fields, while more recently others pose as glorified field ornaments.
Once it was time to grow out of sparkly brow bands and pony club games, the question of ‘well what are you going to do with them’ was asked more and more. For many equestrians like us, there was no great plan. We just wanted to keep enjoying them as we have always done.
As we moved from yard to yard, searching for the nostalgic atmosphere we craved as children. It dawned on us that the place we were longing for was yet to be created. The Neverland of ponies, where we never grow out of it.
At the heart of Little Nags Stables, horses and ponies are all about fun - whether it's for competitions, breeding, or like us, just having them as fluffy field companions!

This spirited little character, full of “spice” as we call it these days, certainly tested my patience during our early days together. Fast forward 40 years, and I'm still captivated by ponies. I've dedicated my life to cherishing the vibrant personalities packed into those small frames we affectionately call ponies. Standing at 5'2", I've never felt the urge to "grow up" and have happily continued to live out my childhood dream throughout my life.
From the moment I was born into the world of ponies, I can't recall a time when they weren't a part of my life. From the moment I was born into the world of ponies, I can't recall a time when they weren't a part of my life. I was lucky to have my first pony, "Milford Fancy That," when I was just five years old, and I've never looked back since. Together with my little sister, I participated in a few local shows, enjoyed leisurely rides, and most importantly, spent countless hours just pottering around at the stables.
Now, 23 years later, it's still the little moments that bring me the greatest joy: the soft morning nickers as they eagerly await breakfast, the way they relax when you find that perfect scratch, and their adorable, cheeky expressions.
Ponies have been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. My first pony, Matty (a Shetland mare), filled my early years with immense joy, even when I was just three years old. Comically, my first ponies were often as wide as they were tall, reminiscent of the cheerful characters from “Chatter Happy”.

As I grew older, my passion for ponies has only deepened. I began to truly understand their individual personalities and quirks, forming bonds that are stronger than any friendship.
